TAMBUNAN:

Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) has reiterated its unwavering support to the Barisan Nasional (BN) leadership and loyalty as a component party of the Coalition. Its President, Datuk Sen Panglima Joseph Pairin Kitingan, said PBS would continue to be backbone of BN tonsure that the Government continues to struggle for the people’s interests and right. The Deputy Chief Minister cum Rural Development Minister said there had been attempts by certain quarters to threaten the BN Government. “The rakyat must trust and have confidence in the Government as what it is doing is for the best of everyone,” he said when officiating the PBS Tambunan Division’s annual general meeting here yesterday. According to him, among the issues that have caused dissent among the people was the Government’s decision to increase fuel prices in the country. This, he said, was a brave step by the Government in its efforts to overcome the escalating global fuel price hike. “We admit that much needs to be done to improve the situation and we welcome the criticisms from the Opposition which we take as constructive and positive,” he said. Pairin who was retained as the PBS Tambunan Divisional Chief, also reminded Party members that unity is a very important aspect of the Party’s strength.
